The Jaydie Lynn King Foundation has been actively distributing handmade blankets with an attached soft, stuffed animal to children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital since Jaydie began treatment in 2005. Jaydie wanted all of the children to experience the same comfort she felt while in treatment. Jaydie had family members making blankets so that she could pass them out during each visit. These hand-made blankets bring some happiness to children who are enduring painful medical procedures, and time away from family and friends.
To honor Jadie's wish of bringing “comfort” to her friends after she passed, the Jaydie Lynn King Foundation organizes and host parties during the months of January, March, July, and November where supporters make homemade blankets. Three times throughout the year, the blankets and stuffed animals are passed out at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Each fall, 150 (or more!) Camp Rainbow children arrive to find a beautiful blanket and warm and fuzzy stuffed animal waiting for them on their beds.
If you would like to be involved with this wonderful program, please consider sponsoring a blanket party, or making a donation to help offset the costs associated with blanket materials and stuffed animal purchases.
Please Contact Us if you or your group are interested in participating in our quarterly Stuffed Animal and Blanket Drives.
